Baptist School of Health Professions (BSHP) Spring 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey guys. I noticed there isn't a thread for this BSHP program. I just got my admission letter by email a couple minutes ago! :D

Is there anybody else who will be going to this school in the Spring?

Does anybody know how many students are accepted each semester? The classroom I took the TEAS in (and I'm assuming everybody took it in the same room, in the basement) looks like it could seat maybe 50 students, max.

Also, anyone getting more and more excited as we get closer to processing day? :D

I took my TEAS in the basement as well and they had 2 rooms open for testing. My room had about 30 and the other room looked about the same. They broke it up by last name. I am getting excited and starting to look for books on Amazon as well as beginning to buy scrubs, etc. so I don't get hit with the expense all at once.:nurse:

cegr,

How do you know which books to buy? I want to start buying my books early too.

Starry, here's a list of the books for the Fall 2011 but I doubt it would change for Spring.

I'm going to wait a little while longer, I'm still waiting to hear from another school until processing day. But I like that Baptist is so organized that they have all the info for you well ahead of time.

Schmoodle,

What is the DPN Program?

DPN - Department of Professional Nursing

I found the pdf file from here:

Will we have to buy our own scrubs or do they give us one to buy?

Hey ya'll,

You can also rent the textbooks on Chegg.com. It'll be a lot cheaper :)

You have to supply your own scrubs, they have to be navy blue and you buy the Baptist patch ($3) and sew it on the scrubs. They also require white shoes. I was told they do not recommend renting the books as the books are used intermittantly for the 2 years and they are a good reference for your career. Cannot wait until Nov 4 so we know all the details.

Hey, do you guys know why we have to give them our bank info for direct deposit?

I think it is for financial aid to be deposited.

Ah!! Thank you

My "processing" is from 9-noon as well. I am pretty sure the Saturday clinicals are for the night classes only because their hours during the week are shorter. I hope to get out by 2, that would be awesome. My 18mo old daughter will be in daycare for the first time starting in December, the less time she is there the happier I will be.

I am getting very excited! Only worried about Financial Aid... I am hoping they will go over that kind of information at processing. Does anyone know what we will be doing at processing??
