  1. The program is 5 semesters (some of them are two flex courses - 8 weeks each) and the summer semester is English Comp, College Algebra, Sociology, Ethics, and Life Span Growth and Development. Also, if you are done with these classes (required for Associates Degree) you can take pharmacology online during the summer or have summer off. The pre-requisites are A&P I & II, Microbiology w/lab and Intro to Psych.
  2. I emailed the health nurse. Her email address is on the bottom of the information letter she handed out on Friday. It is [email protected] and I copied John Fry. She just told me to call the number, hit 2, then 0 and talk to Christine. The other option is to call the main number and ask them to put you through and let them know you don't want a voice mail. I do not believe this is normal as John, and everyone else has always been very prompt at returning phone calls, etc.
  3. Scrubs can be bought anywhere...even Walmart. They have to be navy blue with no other trim or color. The patches are sold at BSHP fro $4 each. Shoes have to be white, either nursing or athletic shoes but all white...no color. I looked at the scrubs and they were pretty worn after the seniors had them for 2 years. There were some nicer x-small and smalls but that didn't work for me. I got my health screening scheduled today after 5 phone calls and an email. I was told by a current student that they will offer a package deal with a stethescope and other good stuff for $88. She said it was a really good deal. I hope this helps.
  4. Just curious, what was the ISBN number of the Fundamentals of Nursing: Text, study guide, clinical companion, etc.
  5. I bought all of my first semester books for about $470.00. I did have trouble finding the book you mentioned above but ended up with ISBN: 978-0323098809. I hope this is the right book and it was $165.00. Just in case you didn't know, if you sign up under Amazon Student, you get free shipping if the item comes from Amazon. Sometimes the price is close enough to save a couple dollars, other times its not.
  6. I was just the opposite, I turned down SAC for Baptist. Hope you do well and good luck.
  7. When I met with financial aid yesterday, she said she would see me on November 4 so I assume they will be there to inform us of the process and what is available.
  8. I was one of the lucky ones who had their FAFSA and income tax return requested for finacial aid review. I think I am totally ready for the processing and hope to meet several of you there. Congrats Tara - welcome.
  9. As jboogieRN said, you do not have to repeat your core classes. I was just saying that I hoped since I had all of my core classes completed, that they would not make me skip summer (not take any classes) and let me move up my fall classes so I could graduate earlier.
  10. The summer session is for completion of core classes, Eng 1301, Lifespan growth and development, history, college algebra and ethics. (I think these are the right ones). I was hoping since I already have all these that I would be able to move up my other classes but I do not think they allow that. I am so excited and getting ready for Nov 4.
  11. I think it is for financial aid to be deposited.
  12. You have to supply your own scrubs, they have to be navy blue and you buy the Baptist patch ($3) and sew it on the scrubs. They also require white shoes. I was told they do not recommend renting the books as the books are used intermittantly for the 2 years and they are a good reference for your career. Cannot wait until Nov 4 so we know all the details.
  13. I took my TEAS in the basement as well and they had 2 rooms open for testing. My room had about 30 and the other room looked about the same. They broke it up by last name. I am getting excited and starting to look for books on Amazon as well as beginning to buy scrubs, etc. so I don't get hit with the expense all at once.
  14. I was told that class was Mon-Wed 9am - 1pm and Thur-Fri Clinicals from 6:45-1. I was also told to love your pillow now because come January, it will only be used about 3 hours a night. These are great hours so hopefully it is still the same schedule.
  15. My email said 1-4 pm also. I had heard that they accept 70 students for the day program. I have heard that most days the students are out by 1:30 and I have not heard about any Saturday clinicals. I think those were for the night classes. I will check with some friends who are there now and let you know.
