2018 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls - Spring

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey there!

I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.

In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone 2MzmrmldDUluFszY4BeNRUhFw8YnK8nLzkBNSYABAA==

What are all the classes they count towards GPA? Thanks

I know a fellow co worker who does CPR. If you tell him that Emely sent you, he will give you a discount. He is a mobile cpr instructor. His business is called CPR and you Houston. https://www.thumbtack.com/websites/7JBAQ46C$x2$tw/redirect (He can be found on FB.)

English and AP (Either one or two but not both. which ever one is highest.)

Thanks for the answer.

Yeah waiting was already killing me lol! Hopefully it doesn't change the time we will get the emails. I applied in July!

I'm taking micro this fall at Cyfair

Who are you taking? I'm doing evening class with Professor Collins..

Anyone have any luck contacting the nursing departments?

I want to make sure my app is submitted... after i updated my FERPA form..

Hello, im so paranoid reading through and seeing everyone else's score. Almost just want to take to the hills and RUN.

After much contemplation i decided to pursue a nursing career. I initially wanted to go to HCC but after hearing all the questionable reviews i opted for LSC. I basically rushed through A&P 1 this summer and got an A. I took my HESI and landed a 92.8. Seemed like i was doing quite alright until i saw my english grade (mind you this was taken 13 years ago) - a "C". I don't know why i thought i did better than that or why i didn't request an unofficial transcript till it was sent to lonestar.

At this point, its toooooo late to attempt retaking the ENGL 1301 and still be considered for the SP18 semester.

Do you think i stand a chance for the SP18 ADN?

In my opinion, I say apply!! Why not...no one knows what the cut off score will be. You might make the cut. I do hear that spring is less competitive as well.

And if you don't make it, take English again in a minimester. Or in the spring with other classes you'll need.

RE: Dperez

Susie Heshi (sp?) its a hybrid class, labs are on saturdays

Nope! I contacted the department wanting to know why I did not receive a confirmation email. They asked me for my student ID. I replied within 10 minutes and have not heard back. :( I applied over a month ago. I'm crossing my fingers that they received everything.

I just turned mine in and received an email about my application being submitted and to await for further emails automatically. Both from my ADN and LVN app.

Yes Catherrera,

You should receive an email confirmation saying thank you for submitting your application. And to check your student email for any and all correspondence related to the nursing program. Also check your spam folder. Hope this helps :)
