Weekend Shifts

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Hey everyone and anyone! I was wondering what is considered a weekend shift. I am thinking about possibly doing only weekend shifts when I receive my RN. I have heard that those on a weekend contract get paid quite a bit more than other shifts. Is this true? Any info about this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Kayla

Where I work weekends start at 7p on Friday and go to 7a on Monday. So if you worked days it would only be sat-sun, nights would be fri-sat-sun.

I currently work weekends and make over $40 hr. I'm looking at moving to Knoxville and so far taking almost 50% paycut...OUCH. Seems like weekends are hard to find there. Even Jackson pays better! Jackson has baylor with working 24 get paid for 36.

I'm getting discouraged.

If you don't mind me asking, which hospital do you work at? And how much expercience do you need to work weekends only? And does your hospital allow you to work 24 and get paid for 36?

Thanks:)

Just thought I would mention this incase it is the same in other areas....

I will be working in Memphis after graduation and I know at my hospital you have to work a year before they'll give you weekends only. I think base at my hospital for weekenders is like $27/hr. I'll get to work some weekends since we rotate on my floor, but I'll only get the $3.75 shift diff. Just thought I'd mention that to you - so you can make sure they'd allow it before a year. :)
