I was accepted to the Germantown campus, and I definitely plan to move as close as I can to the school! I'm at Kennesaw State University, at the moment, working on my 1st degree. It's nice to meet you, by the way. My name is Audrey :-)

Hey everyone! I have been so curious about what our schedule might be like and I did some research. I thought you all would be interested too since we are all in the same boat This is what I found for this spring (2013). I would guess that next year will look "similar". Maybe not the same but it gives us an idea of what to expect at Germantown! If anyone would like to add on to this who is actually in the program...that would be fantastic!!!

I'm applying for the stafford loan. I also go to a credit union and will be looking into that.

That schedule is not surprising, but definitely not appealing, at the moment. I'm worn out from midterms. Thank goodness summer break is so long

Tinker, thank-you so very kindly for posting that. I have been very curious to see some idea of when we would actually be in class. This is basically what I expected, but had no idea if I was on the right track. Thank-you so much for sharing!!

I just got my acceptance email from there as well! I'm originally from the Memphis area so if you have any questions, please ask away!

I still have a few other applications floating around, but this one is high on my list bc my parents are still in the area

The schedule that she posted is dead on. I only go to campus for classes. After spending that much time in a classroom I am ready to go! Once I get home I spend about 7 hours reading/ studying. I usually get 2 hours of sleep eachnight..maybe 3.
Clinicals are 12 hours so that day is pretty much spent at the hospital and straight to bed once I leave there. You all will find what works for you as far as studying. I'm sure all of my classmates don't put in that much time into studying but if you want to be successful you have to give up some things. The faculty will tell you that sleeping is not on the to do list. Y'all need not worry about the jan term. Focus on getting the pre reqs completed have fun while you can and get.ready for August. Get through august-Dec then focus on jan term. Trust me!

That's great mayas! Congrats! It's so exciting I'm from the Memphis area too, but now I live out of the county... about 25 minutes away from the Germantown Campus!

I was just accepted into the University of Memphis nursing program, but they are not offering the accelerated program this fall. If I did go that route it would take 2.5 years Yay Union!!!!

    Congrats, Mayss!

Speaking of hectic schedules, I know A&P is nowhere as difficult as nursing courses, but is anyone else suffering through A&P2? I took the lab and lecture exams this week for the cardiovascular system and lymphatic system, and they were scary! I don't know if it's just my school, but last semester, only one person made an A in A&P1 lab and only 5 people (including myself) made A's in A&P1 lecture with over 300 students.

I'm really good with lecture, but the labs drain me out! I hope nursing exams won't be like practical exams, but I'm sure they will be. Thoughts? I'm so burned out!!! Beautiful901 has me frightened now, haha. I'm delirious without at least 5 hours of sleep.

    Many many congrats Mayss!!!!

GeorgiaPeach I am with you a bit... AP2 is definitely tougher than AP1 for sure. I am feeling time crunched already just finishing pre-reqs. AHHHHHH What does this mean for nursing school?!?!? At an accelerated pace?

And ummm yeah props to you beautiful, but there is no way I could function sleeping only a couple hours a night?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And speaking of AP2 - I guess I really should log off here now and get to studying. BIG Test Thursday and I volunteer all day tomorrow and I am not yet ready for the exam.... yikes!

A&P I and II were tough! I took mine last year at the University of Memphis. Good Luck you two! I understand the pressure and stress! I work as a full time teacher and was taking those classes and I felt as if my head was going to burst! LOL! As far as the nursing program...I just want to retain the information. It's going to be a lot to take in at a fast pace. We will be around nursing 24/7 for 15 months and I believe being in small classes will be beneficial. Plus Union has a high NCLEX-RN passing rate! We can do it!!!
