  1. Jackson campus requires you to attend, not gtwn.
  2. That message I typed is to you. Guess I did not reply like I thought. Anywho, delete some messages from the inbox, that way I can respond and give you all the dirt...J/K
  3. I can't respond to you...delete some inbox messages :-)
  4. If u can move closer do so!
  5. The schedule that she posted is dead on. I only go to campus for classes. After spending that much time in a classroom I am ready to go! Once I get home I spend about 7 hours reading/ studying. I usually get 2 hours of sleep eachnight..maybe 3. Clinicals are 12 hours so that day is pretty much spent at the hospital and straight to bed once I leave there. You all will find what works for you as far as studying. I'm sure all of my classmates don't put in that much time into studying but if you want to be successful you have to give up some things. The faculty will tell you that sleeping is not on the to do list. Y'all need not worry about the jan term. Focus on getting the pre reqs completed have fun while you can and get.ready for August. Get through august-Dec then focus on jan term. Trust me!
  6. You are welcome, I was in the same boat as all of you last year and some one from this site, helped me. I will answer any questions that I can. PM me if you would like. No, Ms. Wendy registers us for all of our classes. Clinicals are scheduled by the instructors. We do not choose our clinical sites, but the instructors do ask what area of town we live in, and this may get you to a clinical site close to home. Either way, you may or may not get a clinical site close to home. Once Christmas break was over, we hit the ground running or flying! All I can say is or heads were spinning on that 1st day and will still spin at this point.
  7. Not sure why my last post is not showing, but yes, my day is that long or longer if I have the idea that sleep is for the weak. My typical day starts at 530 or 430 and ends b/w 1 am and 2 am. I am always studying no matter where I am, if I could drive and study I would.
  8. I am currently in the ABSN program Gtwn campus and yes it is very intense. Intense is putting it lightly. Some of our clinicals are on Saturday, no classes. The first session is the easiest, so enjoy the "free time" b/c once Jan term starts, free time is limited if at all. We do not get breaks, even during Christmas we had assignments/readings that we had to complete. My cohort created a facebook page once we knew who was actually in the program....some that were accepted did not start b/c of family/money issues.
  9. No problem. I try to check the site on a regular basis just to see if any new questions about union are on here that I may be able to answer. Did Wendy say when interviews start or when acceptance emails go out
  10. OK good! Hopefully it transfers, I hope so! Last year I heard something about interviews around this time. My interview was in Jan, so if they are doing the same process you all should be hearing something soon.
  11. If stats isn't a "Math" course offered thru the math dept union may not accept it. I took stats for my Bio degree and master's and neither transferred. Unfortunately I had to take it a third time. Hopefully you are OK cause I wouldn't wish that class on anyone. It takes me two days to do homework if not it would take about 8 hours!
  12. I heard horror stories about micro but it was not as bad as I thought. The key to that class was memorization and studying her notes.
  13. I had to take micro and stats for the first session as pre reqs. along with the required nursing classes but everyone has to take Patho and dimensional analysis the second session. Micro was easier than Patho although it's the same teacher is more info in less time. Micro was twice a week, but patho is one night. I made an A in that class with no problem. I also stopped working in September but if you can work til December I say go for it. My job didn't allow me to study...I was in management so I had no downtime, but still managed to get A's on exams. Good u don't have to take stats! I absolutely despise that class! Its one of those why am I taking this type classe. I have all A's in the classes from first session as well as this session. We are taking finals next week and next semester class from 8am-5pm. Keep in mind union will only except a certain number of hours and even if u take micro they may not accept it and u have to retake it. Since that's the class they say they choose for ppl to retake.
  14. Forgot to mention...go to preview day!! Ask all questions that you have They answered most questions about tuition and the program in general
  15. Ladies I was in the same position this time last year. I've been messaging soontobenurse and I say to you all be patient and know that everything works according to God's plan. I had to take the TEAS but it did not count towards admission, but I hear it is no longer required. This semester is about over and Lord it wasn't a.walk in the park but it wasn't hard. Just information overload. Before taking micro be sure to ask Wendy how many hours Union will take from outside schools. Ms. Wendy is your best friend!!! Please feel free to message me anything. This site was very informative for me before being accepeted and I feel I should help the next person.
