OT: Nashville fun

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Please excuse the off topic-ness of this post. I'm looking for some "local" info. My wife and I are going to a wedding in Nashville this Sunday and have decided to spend the night and try to do something fun Monday before coming home.

We're going to be getting to Nashville Sunday mid morning, the wedding is at 5:00 and we need to leave Nashville a little after lunch Monday, so we're looking for something fun to do either Sunday before the wedding on Monday morning/early afternoon. Oh, and my wife is 34 weeks pregnant, so nothing that requires a lot of walking or being hot. :-)

Really, if there was someplace cool to eat lunch one of those days that is unique to Nashville, that'd be great. I guess it doesn't have to be unique to Nashville, just something we wouldn't find at home. We live in a smaller town, so there are a lot of places you'd find in a big city that you wouldn't find here (like a Cheescake Factory for example, not saying we want to go there - I don't even know if there is one in Nashville - just an example).

The only people we know that live in Nashville are the people getting married and they MIGHT be a bit too busy to play tour guide! :-)

Thanks!

There is a Rainforest Cafe at the Opry Mills Mall. It is a really unique place to eat if you've never been. Loud though, so I dunno if you'd like that or not.

The state capital area is really neat. The spaghetti factory on 2nd street is still one of my favorites after all these years. The zoo is fun but might take a bit of time. On a weekday, I'd suggest eating at Arnold's over near 8th street. Cheekwood gardens are always lovely and the parthenon at Centennial park is interesting as well. Opryland Hotel in general, is fun to walk through. they charge for parking, so be aware of this before you go.

Enjoy your trip!

Well, this reply is too late but I'd highly recommend Monell's! http://monellsdowntown.ypguides.net/
