Hi. Im new to the site..:) my question is has anyone attended, or currently attending MTSU? I wont post a whole long message, I wont know if I got in for 2 more weeks and it is killing me!! I know they are very picking, but they were my last shot here since TSU didnt have my correct gpa, and didnt accept me(long, painful, story) :) anyways, MTSU says they go by more than just your GPA, any advice if I do get in, etc or anyone who didnt get in? THANKS !!!!!!

:balloons: hello and welcome to allnurses.com:balloons:

great to have you with us. enjoy the forums.

I'm in. Got my acceptance in the fall and am in my first semester. Holy crap it's hard. I was a 4.0 student....nursing school has humbled me. I'll gladly take a C.

I won't sugar coat it....it's dang near impossible to get in! Friend of mine had 3.6 gpa and 24 on ACT and didn't make it.

Rumor is that nearly 1500 people apply yearly, and i know that only 104 are accepted. The good thing is that our building is under construction and doubling in size, i think the intention is to double enrollment.

Make sure you cross all your T's and dot all your I's on your application, and good luck! I was shocked that i got in!

I don't know how they select who gets in. My gpa was only 3.1 when I was accepted, but I got a 27 on my ACT. I also already had a degree. I didn't think I would get in because so many people apply with better gpa's than mine was.

i had looked at them back when i was shopping for a nursing school. The one thing i do remember is the lady told me it's easier to get accepted if you are already a student there taking classes with them.

Most schools lay out their system for acceptance - do they not? At my school it is strictly a point system, part comes from your GPA, part from your ACT, and part from your prereqs. They tally up the points and the 80 with the top points get accepted.
