Specializes in L&D.

I live in West Michigan right now. Economy not so good in Michigan. So, we are seriously thinking of moving south if my husband ends up losing his job...

I am an L&D nurse of 2 years. I love the hospital I work for now. I work in a pretty small unit. Our ratio is 98% of the time 1:1. Maybe 120 deliveries a month...This is what I am looking for when searching for a hospital in Tennessee. Any suggesstions? I am searching the Tennesse forums for good places to move to. I'm also looking for really good school systems for my children which are currently in 5th and 4th grade....

Jennifer - I would recommend that you consider the Knoxville area. We are close to the mountains and lots of lakes. The cost of living is reasonable. Specifically look into the Covenent Health facilities (www.covenanthealth.com). They have several facilities with OB services, with Fort Sanders Regional probably being the largest OB services with high-risk OB (due to Children's Hospital across the street).

I live in the eastern most part of the state. Elizabethton is a smaller town with a small hospital called Sycamore Shoals Hospital. You can find out about this hospital and the numerous others it is in a group with at www.msha.com. MSHA owns a lot of hospitals in this area if you want to go to the website and take a look. Elizabethton is about 15 minutes from Johnson City which is a bigger area with a population of about 60,000 or so. The Elizabethton City School system is very good. There are also 3 colleges within 30 minutes. The other group of hospitals in this area is Wellmont and their website is www.wellmont.org. I just wanted to throw these websites out to you so you could have a place to start looking. Good luck!
