Hey roxie! I meant to ask you how your interview went? I didn't know you were applying for the critical care track- that's my top choice as well! Hopefully we will both be there in January! Did you see the thread about new grad pay in Nashville? Everyone who commented on said it was an awesome place so that's reassuring!

icu geek, my interview went well but after i got home i wish i had answered a few of questions differently, but over all i think i did fine....this long wait is killing me i wish i knew something...how did your hesi go? im sure you did well.....i am excited by what everyone is saying about vande...

I know what you mean. I hate having all this time to think about what I said and what I should have said! The more time passes, the worse I feel about it. I passed my hesi which is good considering only 18 out of 92 passed. Everyone else will get two more chances so hopefully they will pass so I can graduate with my buddies. I have also been hearing good things about . I'm sure we did better on the interview than what we think we did. Having to wait is only making it worse!! Let me know as soon as you find out anything!

i am glad that u passed.........all of your buddies will get it the next time and i know how it feels when your friends don't pass and you're feeling sympathy for them but yet glad that you passed and its out of the way...i have a couple of friends that didn't pass it the 2nd time and they only have one more chance and its after graduation...which sucks! but i hope and pray that they will pass b/c we've all came so far and have invested to much money and time.... but i will let u know when i hear something and let me know when u hear something...ok oh yeah when is the last day of class for you? Mine is November 27 yeahhhhhh

Agh my last day isn't until Dec 1. Lecture is over after this next week, but there are some seminar days and random things that we have to do. Dec 1st is my ob/peds final that is being done through hesi. So I will get yet another experience with good ole hesi then. Oh well, at least the end is near!!! I will let you know as soon as I hear anything!

I started my nursing career there 3 years ago. I loved Vanderbilt, but wanted to try out the travel nursing thing.

I do believe it is the best place to start your career. The nursing residency classes are pretty boring and a pain to go to though. I hear they have made them mandatory & they last a year now. I skipped all of mine.

It's a large teaching hospital, which I love. There are a lot of new grads. A lot of the nurses want to go on and get their masters. Which ICU do you want to work in? Or do you even know yet. Good luck! The first year is always scary, but you yourself will probably be precepting new grads in a few years if you're still there.
