What TEAS score did you get & did you get accepted in the nursing program?

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

I took the TEAS exam this morning and got an adjusted individual score of 89.4% overall. I got a 97.5 on reading, 97.8 on math, 83.3 on science, and 83.6 on the English.

I currently have a GPA of 4.0 and I am taking the 3 prereqs for the nursing program now..which are English Comp I, General Psychology, and A&P I.

I have to attend a health information session tomorrow after which I can apply for the internal transfer into the (ADN) Nursing program out of health sciences-general studies.

I am super nervous about the whole process and really hope it all goes well. I am just wondering what scores everyone got on their TEAS and if you got accepted or not into your program.

Thanks!!

hey sorry but i messaged some of u but i forgot to mention which version of the TEAS did u take because my exam was version V. let me know :) I need all the help I can get, i did well in the science and english but i have to retake the math and reading. HELP!! :)

ill resend the email i sent to some of you guys:

Hey

I wanted to ask you how you all did so well on your exam. Congrats, that's amazing! I did well in the English and Science but I have to retake the math and reading. What's nice about the program I want to get into @ Adelphi Univeristy in NY is they have a certain passing score for each section, so I didn't pass the reading and math. My question though both times I took the ATI online practice exams and did well both times in the Reading and Math but when I got to the actual test, some of the questions were a lot harder. Could you explain to me what strategies you took? Please let me know, I am retaking it the beginning of January and want to kick butt on those 2 sections, it's mostly the second half of the reading section that worries me. I mean I know there were 4 stories having to do with sleep walking, hibernation, migraines, and I think one more. How did you figure out the answer? did you read the questions first and then the story or did you read the story and then the questions, please help :) Also the math, the translating word problems in to algebraic equations was hard. I need help :) us future nurses or past nurses need to stick together. thanks!:o:redbeathe

Hi Micky 912,

I scored the same as you--great in Science and English but poor in Math and Reading. My overall score was a 79.3%, however, and I landed in the 90th percentile rank as an overall. Can you tell me what your ATI was and your ranking?

I wonder if you really do have to take it over again. I suppose it depends on the school you are applying to,however, since some look at the overall score and some will look at individual scores. The overall 90th percentile rank, however, puts me at an "A" level.

I would be interested to know what you got, overall.

Thanks,

I actually got like a 60 the first time then a 30% the second time just because since I did well on the English and Science according to the school's grading standards, i just rushed through the english and science since i did well and knew it would be counted for. I took the exam the 2nd time through Pearson Vue the second alternate testing site for the teas and had a horrible experience with them. The place doesn't give you strach paper so I was given a dry eraser board instead and they never gave me the eraser so to make a long story short (too late) I had to ask the lady every 5 secs to bring me a new one and I ran out of time and didn't have time to finish the 2nd section of the reading and was forced to go on to the math. What tips do you have for me for the reading? Maybe I should skip the stories til last because that takes a long time? thanks for writing back.

Hi micky,

I am not certain what you mean about the 60% and 30. In what subject areas? What was your overall average? Also, what percentile rank did you fall into?

Also, I saw some of your earlier posts asking for info on exam questions. I don't think you are going to get the responses you are looking for since people do not necessarily know what they got right or wrong. I can tell you, however, that the calorie/sodium questions were not hard once you figured out what the emphasis was on. In other words, when the patient was concerned about sodium levels, then don't worry so much about the caloric levels--look for the lowest sodium concentration. This will also apply in vice versa form for the emphasis on calories.

So, what was your overall average? And what percentile rank are you for the TEAS test?

Thanks, micky!

I took the teas exam and got a 74%

I won't know if I will get accepted until January.

I just took TEAS 5 ! such a long test ! Got only 78 overall ! too bad !!!

I did terribly on Reading and English (low 70's) ! Really dunno why !? maybe I have reading problems ! lol ! Usually people here say Reading and English are just breezy but.... not for me !

Science is too broad ! but got 80 ! ( yay me !!! ) !

Hopefully I can be qualified for some nursing schools by this TEAS result !

good luck to all and me !

hi everyone hope everyone did well on their tea! does anyone have the mcgraw study book they could email me? I take the tea on Feb 3 and have used the ati book but i hear great things about the other book. Im so nervous! I applying to three schools here in texas for my bsn and i know they have high standards.

hello everyone i was wondering if any has the Mccgraw hill pdf sg they can email me thanks getting ready for a teas test

I need help with the english portion of the teas 5. I passed all other parts and will share my knowledge with you.

Wow I didn't know that the new TEAS was harder. I just took the version5 TEAS and was disapointed with my 85.6 score. Mabye I shouldn't be so hard on myself?

You can get the TEAS version 5 study guide directly from atitesting.com. It only costs about 43 bucks or so. I took the version 5 TEAS and the exam questions are in the same format as the study guide.

This might have already been asked, but I didn't see it...How long do you have to wait to retake the test? I looked on their website, but it didn't really say. It said that you had to wait 30 days if you failed, but it didn't say how long if you just wanted to try again for a higher score. I plan to apply to two different schools: One application is due May 1st, and the 2nd is due June 1st. I plan to take the test in late February and I just wanted to set aside enough to retake it if I need to.
