Teas test helpp please :)

Nursing Students TEAS

Hey there everyone! I take my teas test in June and I'm super nervous! I JUST ordered the ATI study guide for the teas version 5. It'll be here April 9th! I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers? Do I need to memorize the questions and answers? I'm so nervous I pretty much tear up everyday! Thank you all so much!

Just took my teas test last week. It was tough but you will be fine as long as you study hard. I had the ati study guide also and I felt like it prepared me pretty well. I struggled with the science portion. There is a lot of information in it. The math is pretty basic high school level skills. And the English and reading is about knowing the terms. Also make sure you know your punctuation rules! I would study the book every chance you get! Good luck on your test!!!

I took the TEAS V last week and the ATI manual will help you! There weren't any of the same questions from the study manual on the actual exam, so memorizing answers to questions won't be the best strategy. Honestly, you just have to be familiar with the different subjects and topics in each section. Review grammar, parts of speech, know how to do order of operations, fractions, work rate problems, percentages, know the phases in meiosis and mitosis. Understand basic genetics (i.e. if two red heads produce a blonde child and the dominant gene for red hair is R and the recessive gene for blonde is b, then what is most likely the child's genotype? Then select from choices: RR, bb, Rb) Know your basic chemistry, understand differences in parts of cells between eukaryotes and prokaryotes, photsynthesis and cellular respiration, what different cell organelles do, DNA and RNA (transcription, translation, codons, base pairing). Watch Youtube, Khan Academy, use practice quiz websites to test yourself on different subjects, really read the ATI manual. I also found the website, "Grammar Girl:Quick and Dirty Tricks" to be helpful for some of the grammar understanding ( such as when to use who or whom).I literally had an epiphany after reading the explanation on the website! lol and was like why don't they teach you these little tricks in school? Maybe they do, but I missed it! Anyway, hope this helps!

Thank you guys so much!!! I will def study study and use that grammar girl website!!! I'm just bad at math but I have faith that I'm going to do awesome!!!

You're welcome! Good luck on your test! You will do great! Keep the faith!

The study guide should become your bible! I took my test in Feb, I was SO nervous! To be honest there were even some questions that werent covered in the guide. I studied each page of the book, then took the first set of practice tests that are in the back of the book. I then re-read the whole book focusing on the material I needed the most work with. Then I took the remainder of the practice exams in the back. I then re-read the points that I still needed help with, (math, science). After you feel confident with the study guide, I would reccomment purchasing the online practice exams from ati.com. They're pretty pricey but worth it. I actually had a couple of the same questions on my actual Teas. The practice exams are harder than the acual exams so dont feel discouraged if you get a low score. On the practice I got a 64% and I got an 85.3% on the real Teas. I would focus on what you have trouble with, and not so much on what you don't. Spelling, grammar, physiology, anatomy, percentages, and decimals were the majorority of my test.

Most of all, stay calm, I bet if i wasn't so nervous, I could've gotten a higher score! Good Luck!! :)

I found a bunch of TEAS V math tutorials on youtube. I also watched a bunch of videos about the blood flow and valves of the heart, that came in VERY handy!

You all are awesome ;) thank you so much!
