Taking the TEAS on Thursday - Kinda freaking out!

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

I am taking the TEAS on Thursday. I feel really good about everything except the Chemistry. I've been studying and studying, but I really struggle in this area. I'm really hoping I can rock out the other sections to make up for a poor grade on that part. Any tips from anyone??

Hi ~

Did you review with the TEAS book? Did you buy the TEAS practice tests? Also, there are some TEAS videos on youtube that are helpful.

I studied the TEAS book, bought the practice tests A and B, and reviewed information on the internet. For me, the actual TEAS is similar to the book/tests for Math, English and Grammar. The Science is a little more extensive for a few q's than the book or tests provided - use your critical thinking skills to answer the q's. If you feel you know what's in the book, taken some practice tests (and reviewed your weak areas) you should do just fine. The main thing is to go into testing, well-fed, calm and confident. Last tip, watch the time! The Reading portion of the test (at least for me) was a close call as far as time. The other sections I had a few minutes or more to spare.

Good luck!!

Took it this morning and got a 83.3%! Yay!!

Do you think that the teas practice test are way harder than the actual test? I am taking it this coming Tuesday and I am freaking out. I haven't scored any high grades the highest I have gotten is 60.

Same here ATLback2RN

I have heard people score above the 90's in the actual test. To me the test is hard, and the most difficult part is the chemistry. Let me know how you do on your exam. Wish you luck hope you do great on it!

Actually the practice tests in the ATI book are very similar to the real thing. The chemistry was definitely the toughest. Also make sure you know the systems of the body and what they do. Just study, study, study! You'll retain more than you realize!

Thanks so much! I'll report on here as soon as I get my results. I need all the luck I can get :) just looking over last minute things now before I head to bed. I can't wait for this to be over. The anxiety is killing me lol

No, not really. In my opinion, the practice tests in the book were not really representative of the real test. I was disappointed with my score, I plan to re-take it again in February This time I plan to purchase the online tests as I heard they better represent the real test. I studied for several weeks and made about 100 flash cards...I passed, but I feel I could've done better.

Thanks, Leshachap,

I didn't study from the book, but do have the Mcgrawhill book I will study from that one and the online practice tests. Did you study from the online practice tests?
