Haven't taken a&p2

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Has anyone taken the teas test without having taken a&p2 and passed with a good score? I'm supposed to be taking the test in about 3 weeks from now and I'm freaking out. I'm looking over the study guide and a lot of info that's in the a&p section I haven't learned yet. I took a&p1 and did really well. I knew I should have taken a&p2 in the summer time before this test, but it's a little too late for that. I have to take the teas and apply for nursing school before my a&p2 class starts. I do have my a&p2 book, so that's a plus. Please, if you have taken this test before taking a&p2 what did you use to study to be successful? The study guide barely covers anything over the complex systems I haven't learned yet. Help me please!

I am currently enrolled in APII. I took my TEAS 3 weeks into the course. I scored an overall 86.0 with a 72.3 in science.

There was only 1-2 questions on my TEAS that I learned in the 3 weeks of AP II. For the rest of the systems covered in my AP II I just used the study manual and YouTube videos (crash course and Wendy riggs). I really didn't have that detailed of a grasp on those systems but I can tell you that all of my AP questions on the actually TEAS except 1-2 can be found in the official study manual. Good luck!

I'm also going to be taking the TEAS without taking A&P II.

I have a friend who is currently in the nursing program and she also took the TEAS before taking A&P II. She scored a 90% on the science section. She told me that all you need to do is study what the manual wants you to know because the TEAS doesn't go too in depth like the classes do.

That makes me feel a lot better! Thank you. I took one of the practice tests today and didn't do very well. I'm hoping to improve my score before I take the actual exam on the 23rd. The ati study section for the science doesn't seem to cover a lot of a&p info which has be worried.

I took my test about a year ago and got an 86% - I took the TEAS V, though, not the VI (and I haven't looked into the differences too deeply, so be careful with my advice.) I just want to add that I agree with quarter & mxm. The ATI manual is your best bud. You may do better than some of us did on previous versions because now you get to use a calculator -regardless of you school's policy. Just don't underestimate any section & don't slack on your studying. If you make a study schedule, and faithfully follow it, you should be fine.
