FORMULAS? New ATI TEAS 6

Nursing Students TEAS

Will there be FORMULAS given during the TEAS or do we have to have them in mind?

I'm taking a practice exam on Mometrix, and a question involves a picture of a cylinder and finding its surface area. NO FORMULA(S) were given, and it was pretty complicated: 2pir2 x 2pirh.... I'm thinking to myself, "How am I going to remember all these formulas???"

If anyone has any info, please let me know!

Take a look through this section. There are a number of people who posted about their TEAS experience and what to expect from certain sections. ItsThatJenGirl, shared what she could remember about her experience a couple of days ago with you on another post.

From what I have read, prepare for the worst and expect the best. Take one formula at a time and master it. Understanding the formula and knowing how to manipulate it will help you to relax and memorize it. It seems like basic geometry and algebra is what you need to focus on. For the example you gave, break it down. How do you find the area of a circle? What shapes make up a cylinder?

Do your best to relax. The better you prepare now will help you to do your best. Whether or not formulas are given, I plan to study like they are not going to be. The test is timed and I plan on knowing my formulas to save some time. If you are taking the exam electronically, chances are any formulas given will be on the screen with the problem. Keep calm and best of luck.

I took the TEAS this week - no formulas given. But I only recall one question where I needed a formula, so I wouldn't stress too much about it. Algebra and knowing how to do proportions & fractions will likely be more important.

Hello Everyone! I am new to this forum/site and am too looking forward to taking the teas in the next few weeks. I purchased a few study guides but do have a questions. As far as the anatomy and physiology is concerned how much will I need to know? I will be taking that course next so I am a little worried but I do not want to overthink it too much. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would recommend taking the TEAS after completing your A&P courses. From my understanding, the science portion is heavy with this content. There are a couple of articles on here from people who took the exam. Someone I know personally who took it stressed waiting until after completing A&P. Are you allowed multiple attempts at taking the TEAS? If you are limited to one or two attempts, then I would hold off. It can be done (self-teaching), but it depends on how much time you can dedicate to learning the material. Best of luck!

Good Morning!

Thanks so much for your feedback! I attend Keiser University and apparently in order to officially get into the RN pm I need to take the TEAS ASAP....I agree with you that I would much rather wait until I complete A&P I and II however they do not advise as I could lose my spot. I am paying for the test and I do believe that I get two shots at it but apparently the requirements have gone down and all I need to get is a 60% to pass and get in. Any suggestions on where I can get a crash course as I don't want to lose my spot, I am planning on beginning all my core classes in January. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!! Thanks again!

Get one of the practice books (I liked TEAS Secrets) or the official practice tests and take a practice test, just to see where you are right now. that will help you to know what areas to focus in on. ?

There is a video on YouTube by BlossomWithJessica (I think). She took the TEAS before taking A&P and has a couple of videos about how she was able to do it. She used the TEAS secrets by Mometrix, used resources to teach herself, and got a 95!

CrashCourse, Khan Academy, Armando Hasudungan, and Professor Fink are some resources that I have heard of. I have yet to use any of them, but I may when I start reviewing for the TEAS. Best of luck! It can be done.

I took the TEAS today, and I haven't had an A&P class in 25 years. I scored a 75% on the science section, 80% overall. What REALLY helped me was doing the self directed lessons on ATI and doing both of the practice tests. I also downloaded a TEAS app and peppered myself with science questions. I only studied for about a week, but I only needed a 60% to get into my program and I scored advanced with an 80%.

Hi, which TEAS app did you use? I downloaded both TEAS Mastery and ATI TEAS Pocket Prep, but I'm not sure which one I should I invest in purchasing the full version of.

I purchased the full versions of both apps since I am preparing to take the exam in the next few months. My friend who took the exam earlier this year also had both apps and said that Pocket Prep was most like the actual exam as far as questions. Hope that helps and good luck!

Need help!!!! Want type of study material is everyone using to prepare for pre-admission test? I have taken my test 3 times now and haven't been successful in passing it I am close by 2 points just can't seem to pass it due to anxiety issues?? Any advice would be great
