when to start applying

Im hoping I could get in a program by 2012, when should I start sending out applications?? Now, or wait until around march/april?

Depends on what schools you want to get accepted to. Programs start both Fall and Spring. Fom experience, the sooner the better. Also, applications take lots of time and money...waiting for references, transcipts, etc....It wouldn't hurt to start getting all that stuff together now and when the schools your are applying "officially" accept apps, send them in.

Each school has a different application deadline. Start exploring the programs of the schools that you are interested in. They will tell you when to submit by. They all have different submission dates, so watch the calendar.

You can get your GRE out of the way - scores are good for 5 years.

Applications are extensive, expensive, and time consuming, so I suggest starting early. Keep copies of everything. More than likely something will get lost and you will have to resubmit.
