I just got my interview invitation, and will be there for the 4/13 date. I'm reaching out to see if anyone can recall the question type mix in the actual interview portion of the process (clinical vs personality), and would love some insight from current Pitt students. It would be nice to connect with others interviewing the same day.

I got a phone call yesterday from one of the faculty members to set up an interview. Sounds like they only have one date right now (4/13), with 9 candidates going at 8 am and 9 more at noon. They will set up another date in May, but it's not scheduled quite yet. I'm assuming the April date is for those who applied by the priority deadline.

Do you mind me asking what your background / stats are ? I applied early and am anxiously awaiting to hear back from a few programs. Just wanted to figure if they were still contacting candidates for 4/13 interviews. Thanks!

I'm 34, have been an RN for close to 8 years. I did 4.5 years in an endoscopy/medical procedures unit doing conscious sedation, and have since been in a med surg ICU with some cardiac thrown in. My grades aren't stellar, as I initially got a degree in biology, with a mediocre 3.16 GPA. I later went through an accelerated BSN program and finished with a 3.46 (non-transfer GPA was 3.6). I do relief charge, precept, have my CCRN, and had my GI certification at my old job, and have served on some committees as well as headed a couple of small projects. GRE scores were 160/163/4.5 for verbal/quant/analytical. If I can get an interview, I'm sure most applicants I've seen post on here can. Best of luck, and maybe I'll see you in a couple of weeks!

I think it went very well. The staff was very welcoming and put together a great presentation of the program, and tried to diffuse some of the nerves during the actual interview process. The interview sessions felt like speed dating, as I only got about 10 min with each faculty member before rotating. We were told we would hear back no later than June 1st. It's hard not to get my hopes up, but I'll be watching my phone like a hawk for a 412 area code number until then.
