U. of Miami Statement of Professional Goals

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

hey all,

i'm going through the application process for a couple schools now, and i'm kinda confused in this statement of professional goals that u of m is asking for. it seems to be different from what the other schools are asking for. it says:

"please list and briefly discuss your goals for entering the graduate program at the university of miami school of nursing."

now, should i take that literally and actually make a list of my goals, then discuss in a little sub-paragraph under each goal?? or should i write it in an essay style??

also, for those who did write this statement for um, did you simply talk about your "goals" or did you talk about other things like...what interests you in crna, what have you done to prepare for school, why you are a good candidate, etc???

please help, im kinda stumped as to what approach i should take.

thanks, -anthony

I understand your confusion with the "please list". You could ask the program secretary to be sure, But I strongly suspect that they are looking for an essay response and that anything less is less than

Specializes in CCU, CVICU, SRNA.

i just used the same essay that i had used for applying to other programs.

it was essay style and included the things that you listed below (what interests you in crna, what have you done to prepare for school, why you are a good candidate, etc..) . i actually did write a paragraph stating my goals.

i was accepted to their program so i guess i did it correctly.
