  1. aahh...Mark! ofcourse i know who you are now. I'll definitely pm you after my interview and let you know how it goes. when are you working this week?
  2. you work at Delray?!! who is this?
  3. cole....where do you work? i also live about an hour from FIU, in Deerfield Beach and work at Delray's CVICU. I have my interview on the 8th. from what i have "heard," FIU's interview process is more personal geared, but that was a couple years ago when i had a friend that got in there. i was a little surprised when i got the invitation, as i thought the interviews weren't conducted until early '09. Have you applied anywhere else? I'm waiting to hear from UM. well, good luck on the interview. let me know if you hear anything about it. thanx, -Anthony
  4. bump...i too am interested in hearing opinions as i have an interview for their program starting fall 09
  5. is the CCRN something that will take extensive studying? i imagine it to be like the boards, only critical care focused.
  6. hey all, i'm going through the application process for a couple schools now, and i'm kinda confused in this statement of professional goals that u of m is asking for. it seems to be different from what the other schools are asking for. it says: "please list and briefly discuss your goals for entering the graduate program at the university of miami school of nursing." now, should i take that literally and actually make a list of my goals, then discuss in a little sub-paragraph under each goal?? or should i write it in an essay style?? also, for those who did write this statement for um, did you simply talk about your "goals" or did you talk about other things like...what interests you in crna, what have you done to prepare for school, why you are a good candidate, etc??? please help, im kinda stumped as to what approach i should take. thanks, -anthony
  7. Hey everyone, i'm an aspiring CRNA and wanted to get a little insight on my chances of getting into 1 of the 3 listed schools, as well as some thoughts/info on each program. Well, i'll be applying for Fall 2009 at UM/FIU and Springs 2010 at Barry. I graduated from FAU with my BSN (Magna Cum Laude with 3.85 GPA). Started in CVICU as a new grad and will have 2 years of CV experience by the time the program starts. Just took my GRE and got a 430 verbal, 740 quantitative, for a combined of 1170. what do you all think? good chances? If you are currently enrolled in one of these programs, how did these stats compare to yours (if you don't mind posting; i'd really appreciate it Should i retake my GRE to get my verbal above 500?? do the schools even require a verbal >500?? Also, how do you like these programs and what do you like about them? Thanx for your help ahead of time. -Anthony
