Requirements for CRNA school

Nursing Students SRNA

Updated:   Published

I will be graduating from West Coast University's nursing program. I have always wanted to go to CRNA school, preferably, in California since I live here, BUT I am open to going abroad. However, I am not sure if certain CRNA schools across the country will take a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from this for-profit institution. WCU is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Will this be enough to suffice the minimum requirements before applying? Or will the ICU experience have more of an edge or impact in the application process? I have called a few CRNA schools such as University of Southern California and Loma Linda University and staff members have told me yes, but I wanted an opinion from someone else regarding the validity of a WCU BSN degree.

Thank you.

Your best source is the schools you want to attend. Asking them is the only way to know.

Oh ok. What type of chemistry courses should I take prior to applying? Is calculus also required? Will it look good to take calc I,II,&,III since anesthesia school involves dosage calculation? And will taking such courses at a CC ok as well?

Calculus would be overkill at many schools.

Lol, there is no calculus involved in dosage calculations. People would die at an alarming rate if there was....
