First thing is to apply to a nursing program. Either an ADN or a BSN program. I would actually recommend the ADN route and then work in intensive care while finishing up your bachelor's degree.

I don't know if it is the same all over the country, but here on the East Coast it takes 3-4 years to complete an ADN. Waiting lists to get in, and about 2 semesters worth of prereqs. Why not just go straight to a 4 year BSN program, work in the ICU after you get your RN, and then apply to Anesthesia school. I think the ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) can be misleading in that it will take more then 2 years to complete. If you are right out of HS and can swing it, I would go the 4 year college route. That is the advise I would give you if you were my child. This also leaves the door open for other options if you change your mind.
