I would like to know more about the school accelerated program.

I believe that only the accelerated BSN/MSN track is going to be offered for the next incoming classes. This means that you'll be taking GRADUATE LEVEL Patho, Clinical Pharm and Research.

I am a first semester student in the BSN/MSN accelerated program and it's no joke. It takes a lot of commitment on your part as well as your support group/s. As the associate dean told us, they pretty much own you for about 15 months (and then some). Lots of info, stress and headaches but it's all so fun.

If you go into the program, look at it as your new full-time job.

I was just accepeted into Columbia's PNP program starting May 31st. What have you heard from the students about Columbia? bad? good?

I'm currently a student at columbia. graduated from the BS phase of ETP 2 years ago and have been working in a mixed SICU/CCU since. I'm currently deciding whether to withdraw from their ACNP program (which I'm start tomorrow) and go to CRNA school in a year or two, or to continue in the ACNP program and do CRNA later on.

I can't say much abou the CRNA program, but as far as the SON in general, the school is very disorganized, especially with regard to being straightforward with us about structuring, etc. of clinicals. As well, some of the administrators and program directors/professors are not always as zealous as we might hope about teaching us or caring about student issues, even those realated directly to academics and clinicals.

Are there any CRNA students from UMDNJ Newark or Columbia out there? Initially I was supposed to attend Barry University in Miami, but my fiance could not relocate with me due to his job, so I applied to these programs which are so much closer to where we live. I was accepted into Columbia (beginning May 31) and I'm waiting to hear from UMDNJ (will prob hear the first weak of March). There are a lot of "pros" to both programs; so if I were to be accepted into UMDNJ as well, I really want to make a well informed decision. I've spoken with a Columbia student and a Columbia graduate, so I have some questions especially for the UMDNJ students. Thank you in advance.

Hi was wondering if you got in to UMDNJ? I am looking for some info on application process and their interview. How was it? Would you please let me know???

I heard that UMDNJ's program is bad and you should stay away. Unless you're in state you'd be better off at Columbia.

UMDNJ's accelerated program is geared towards earning a second bachelors degree in Nursing and an MSN degree if you meet the criteria for placement.

Sorry, there's no accelerated CRNA track. Check the website for info about the CRNA program.

well, here's what i've heard. i know people in the program, and know people who know people in the program. the overall consensus is that it's very disorganized, perhaps on the verge of losing their accreditation for CRNA. the students are not very friendly with eachother and very competetive, meaning they don't seem to want to help eachother out. what i have also heard about the application pool is that they will only accept top 5% or better of applicants. apparently, their pass rate is not so good, so they are attempting to "improve" their numbers via this process. in my personal opinion, i would stay away, but my opinion is not for everyone. i applied there last year, and am glad i wasn't accepted.

remember, this is for the CRNA program. i don't have any knowledge of any other programs.

Can I ask why no one has tried out for the SUNY downstate school of nursing. they also have a masters in nurse anesthesia
