So i just completed my gre. I am a recent graduate from toledo, oh. I had a 3.5 gpa overal with around a 3.5 in sciences. I just got done with my GRE. i got a 430 on verbal and a 720 on my math. I have not recieved my analytical in mail yet. I plan to apply to u of detroit, youngstown, cincinatti, and akron. Wondering if anyone knows if my stats are okay or what your suggestion is whether to retake the gre to get my verbal score up. I am not sure what the requirement at most of these scores are??? please help. Also what kind of extra activities do u men/women join to show involvement beyond acls, pals, and ccrn? thanks

That's definitely a decent score in my opinion. Usually anything over 1000 is competitive, as I understand it. I only scored a cumulative 1010 on my GRE, with a writing score of 4.0 and I received interview letters from all 4 schools I've applied to. Based on your GRE and GPA alone, you should be sitting fairly pretty, I'd think. Good luck!

what schools did u all apply to any in ohio? or Michigan? also what was your gpa and extracurricular activities you did to build your resume if you dont mind. also anyone else reading please help. thanks all

I agree- GRE over 1000 is usu. good enough. Esp. having a strong math score seems to be a bonus (I'm not sure how much they consider verbal) - writing they will prob look at to see if you can express your thoughts well enough for grad level. I had a verbal around the same as you and about 50 pts less on my math. I don't think GRE scores even came up in my interview but if they did it seems like they may have thrown me a 'good job' on my math score. Don't worry about retake- your grades/gpa is great and overall gre competitive. Focus on your icu/nsg experiences, poss. taking or studyin for ccrn if you dont have it already and selling yourself at the interview. I got in first try at Cinci and start in sept. Good luck :p

i agree with the above post. i had 3.3 gpa and 1050 gre and got interviews everywhere i applied.
