Grad courses?

  1. hey everyone,

i recently spoke with an crna and she advised me to do some graduate coursework before i apply to a nurse anesthetist program. even though my gpa is pretty good she said it would help make my application stronger. what grad courses do you think will look the best on an application?

I'm planning on taking 4 before starting a program. I met with the director of the local CRNA program while I was still in nursing school, and she told me exactly which courses I could take early. If possible, find out if the program(s) you're interested in will allow you to take anything before you're accepted. I'm planning to take the basic nursing graduate courses - advanced patho, research, statistics, and ethics. That will make my first year of CRNA school a little less heavy, and I can get work to pay for classes I take while I'm still employed. Of course, I can't guarantee that I'll be accepted into this program, but I know my application will at least look good on paper.
