Do most schools want the lab portion? It would save me time and money if I didn't have to take it.

For those who did take O. Chem. did you take the lab?

Thanks!

When I took it the lab was actually the best part. It was interesting, less-stressful, and actually made what you learned in class make more sense. If you look at the class as a means-to-an-end, then the lab probably will be a thorn in your side. Or perhaps, as my lab was, an easy way to boost your overall grade.

Overall, I don't think I have ever heard of anybody taking an Ochem class without a lab. As far as I know, it is mandatory.

This depends on the unviersity. At some schools, the lab is integrated into the lecture. In others, the lab is a standalone course with its own credit and grade.

The CRNA program I am looking at does not require the lab; some schools offer lab and lecture separately, and require them together for their own students. As always, check with the programs you are interested in. Doing well in the lab component can't hurt!
