CRNA Jobs for Adrenaline Junkies

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know what types of job opportunities there are for a CRNA who is interested in fast-paced/adrenaline healthcare. Trauma Code Flight Nurses?

Im finishing my ADN and Im interested in the CRNA specialty.

Who was the urology doc on Newsweek and how did it relate to this topic? Sounds interesting.

I don't think I get adrenaline rushes - in a crisis on the unit I just did what was in front of me. I suspect that anesthesia is different though, I will be on my own one day and won't have the ICU staff backing me up. That will definitely cause some sympathetic stimulation.

Specializes in I know stuff ;).

hehe

Well i am certainly type A and into autonomy and adrenaline ;) I fly as an FN and we are all of 2 ppl, one RN and one medic. Its awesome ;) I cant wait for the new challenges of CRNA school.

The urology doc was a guy who signed up of his own free will to help out the gals and guys putting themselves in harm's way everyday in Iraq. He felt it was his duty. He had a wife pregnant with their first child. He felt it was a duty he was called to do. The article is very moving. What an environment in which to practice medicine. Front-line trauma care. Lots of it. All the time. Whew......

CRNA's need a clear head with a cool back. Adrenaline is wonderful, but must be tempered with compassion and a clear head. Finish you ADN, pass your boards, get your bachelours, then apply and see if you get in. Then you can start taking swings with the big dogs. Greatest Luck.
