Calling all UT Memphis DNP student together, including alumni. Let's network! Ask any questions about any particular program you are in or know about. I will start.

I have been a nurse 2 years and plan to start the DNP Acute Care program in August 2013. I'm looking for any advice, a list of books, or other materials we may have to buy for school. I also was wondering if anyone knows how the program will run. Lets get to know each other. :yes:

Yea mine couldn't be but that's because I listed the wrong school (when I filled it out I wasn't going to UT).

Thanks Layna522. I've spoken with a representative of the school and I was told that this was a technical issue. I expressed my concern of the balance on my account and I was told not to worry that the issue is being dealt with.

So... I need y'alls help with this Financial Aid stuff. I've always filled out the FAFSA every year, but nothing further than that. Besides e-mailing them the SAR, what do I do now?

I think what I remember doing is seeing on the Financial Aid section of the banner system that I was awarded money through FAFSA. I had to accept the money and then there was an counseling entrance requirement that I did on another website that I got to through the link provided in the "awarded" tab. I did the counseling and filled out my Master Promissary Note. I don't remember having to do anything else once the SAR was sent. I don't even have a copy of an email from FAFSA telling me that I had money awarded. It was all under the Financial Aid part of the Banner system. I did the Entrance Counseling about a week ago but when I just checked, it still says I haven't fulfilled that yet. It could be an issue with UTHSC since we are all behind from not having the NetIDs.

On the Thursday we are on campus it says that a lab coat is required. What kind of lab coat are y'all buying? A short one?[/quote']

Please let me know when you find out about the lab coat and if it had to have the logo on it. Also if there is any equipment we may need. I saw it had reflex hammer.

We should receive it in August because its not posted on the website. We should've received it that was one of my reasons for applying being the program was 3 years long without summers hopefully the changes were not that significant.....

They could of at least sent us an email of the new curriculum. I just need to know about the summer situation.

They've sent the new curriculum for me to sign and return. Looks like some classes have been combined, didn't have time to pay close attention but it looks doable. No summers though!!!

The financial info is in the website, the attire is business since of course we are in a "professional" program, and the plan was on the website but it since have changed but mines was emailed yesterday. Layna522, what concentration are you in?
