RN with BA to MSN NP Degree?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone is in the same boat or has some direction they can give me.

I have a BA in Biology and a ADN RN. I'm looking for programs that can bridge that gap to a MSN NP degree.

More specifically... My BA has a GPA under 3.0 but my ADN is above 3.5. Online would be preferred.

Any ideas? Direction?

Go to a strong BSN program, earn stellar grades and then apply to a respected NP program instead of just going anywhere that will let you in. That's my advice.

Hmmmm most schools are doing away with MSN. I would have said Frontier but they have the ADN to DNP and will accept u with a GPA of

Personally, I doubt the GPA will be a big issue. I'm assuming the RN degree was after the BSN, so a 3.5 in that would probably be sufficient for many schools even with the BS degree GPA being less than stellar. Good references and essays can make up for alot of other shortcomings.

I would compare the BSN, then MSN or DNP route against the route of the programs that will accept a BS degree w/ extra classes and their BSN-MSN/DNP program as you are likely to do about the same work, and you might find it to be even less with the BSN program first. Also, as Blue Devil mentioned, you can bring up your overall GPA in the BSN program. I would suggest looking carefully at which programs will accept the most of your prior school work, as that will give you a big jump start towards your BSN.
