Pegnant in school

I have this semester and a summer class to take and then a year of clinicals. At my school it's 16 hours per week for the fall, spring and summer semesters, taken in that order only. I have a year and half old baby and want to have another close in age. Will it be too hard to get pregnant and have the baby during my clinical year? Or taking a leave of a sense in the middle of my clinical year? I'm so torn with what to do. I'm not young but I'm not old either at 31 years old.

I've seen people do it, though I have not. As long as your school will allow you to miss a few days to give birth... And you have Childcare in place, hey, a strong determined woman can do anything. I wouldn't do it myself if I had the choice, but that's just me.

I know a few women that were pregnant during school, and to be honest they always looked miserable. Not enough sleep, not enough time to study. One woman took a semester off, and when she came back said that it was extremely hard to get into the routine. Listen, there are people that it worked for and there are that it haven't. Only you know your situation. If you have a good support system, and will be able to study each day 2-4 hour uninterrupted, then it's doable. Of course you may feel guilty over missing out on your children's milestones, but settings gotta give right?

Personally I have a toddler, I went for nursing when she was 10 month. I did full time on the weekends, while her dad watched her. Even two days a week were hard for me to be away from her.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!!

When I went to school there was one woman who got pregnant. She had the baby over the weekend & then came back.

I got accepted into nursing school for this summer but I had to decline because my health hasn't been that great since I've been pregnant. I knew there was no way my body could handle the grueling summer semester or give birth on a weekend & come straight back. I also could only miss 2 clinical days.

I would check with your program to see how many days you can miss. It sounds like your last pregnancy went smoothly, but remember, every pregnancy is different. Your next pregnancy could be difficult. I would really weigh the pros & cons of getting pregnant during school.
