Anyone waiting to hear from Drexel on Fall 2013?

Yes, me too!

I was accepted into Seton Hall but I'm waiting to hear from to make my final decision. Drexel would be much cheaper and offer the same academics as SH. The only thing that gives me anxiety is the on-campus visits, preceptors and the course load in a quarter.

Do any of you have any other information or details about Drexel? I would appreciate it!

Neuron (I like your name :)), supposedly nothing is being sent until May, but I thought maybe someone heard differently or received a notification. As for the program, I've heard very rigorous, find your own preceptors, a lot of work in a quarter. After calling several online programs and finding out AFTER the application was submitted that they do not serve PA students, I decided to stay away from all online programs except those in-state. Good luck to you!

I was you a year ago. I applied to . I freaked and applied to seton hall just weeks before I would hear from drexel because I was afraid of not getting in. In the end I was accepted to drexel and now I'm on my way! I wish I could remember when I got the magic email....but I don't remember. I just remember getting it and flying down the stairs to log onto the computer known it would be faster than my phone. Good luck!

Thank you Kristin! :) I did recieve a notice from stating that all Fall 2013 applicants will recieve a decision by June 15th…seems like a long wait. Wow! That sucks they do not serve their own PA students. I also heard the same information about the rigorous course load and finding your own preceptors. It seems like the more prestigous schools are in the business of locating students preceptors. At SHU, students have to find their own preceptors too…that scares me. Thanks again for the details and best wishes to you too!

I started last year. So I'm in my 3rd quarter (they do the 4 quarters a year). I'm doing the Ped NP program. Which program are you trying for?

I do like it so far. I have had some amazing instructors who actually seem to care about the students and want to help. The work load can be rough at times but I think that's expected.

They did just get a grant that will change clinicals a little. Some people will get placed for their clinicals! Not everyone will have this happen but this will make life easier for some students.

Whenever I email the academic advisor a question she gets back to me very quickly. I was having an issue in a class and talked to her about it. Fast forward a few months...an instructor emailed me and I didn't reply quickly (silly story) and so he got worried and asked the advisor to reach out to me. So she did and before she did I had already responded to the instructor. Well while she had me on the phone she asked about the other class I was having issues with from a few weeks prior. I was impressed that she remembered and cared enough to ask....and thankfully everything had clicked and all my concerns were for nothing.

So I'm not too far into it but in happy so far.

I'm glad you shared that with me and I'm glad you're happy with the program! I can't wait to find out my decision but I already feel confused lol

Seton hall was my backup plan. I knew if I got into that's where I was going.

Seton hall was more money, not online like drexel and they were snotty a few times on the phone.

I was so nervous waiting for my decision. I had myself convinced I wasn't getting in. The email had me running and I swear I was so worked up that I couldn't read the words in the screen once I logged in. I was so convinced I wouldn't get in.
