When did you hear back? I applied to the PMHNP program.

I received an email on Wednesday and then an official letter on Friday. Good luck!!

Hey there blueindigo79,

I received an email on 5/21 indicating that my admission for the fall semester is on hold for the PMHNP program. Since I am still working on completing my final courses for my BSN this summer, I won't be receiving my degree until the end of summer. Therefore, I haven't received an official acceptance letter as of yet. I was, on the other hand, invited to the new student orientation that was held earlier this week on 6/3. Given that I am able to prove completion of my BSN before the fall semester begins, I will receive an official acceptance letter. The only problem with this is, I'm currently unable to register for any classes. I'm worried that the classes I want will fill up before I'm finally able to register. :(

Hi Beloved,

Good luck! I think the first core classes are pretty big (there are two sections for one class and each section is 35-40 people) so there may be enough space. Let me know if you enroll in the Fall!

Hi All, I just got accepted into the Psych NP stream. I'm a bit undecided though, I am still trying to decide between NYU and Hunter. Hunter administration is very bad at providing me information, where NYU is so eager to speak and discuss their program. Do you know of advantages of Hunter over NYU, besides price. I am eager to doing a rotation at Bellevue so that's a major draw for Hunter.

For me the big draw was the cost, reputation of the program and how it is designed for working professionals. Yes, NYU has shiny new facilities and administration is super helpful ( I went there for RN undergrad) but I couldn't afford it again. good luck with your decision!

So I just received my official acceptance letter for fall admission on 7/14, which I'm so ecstatic about!! í ½í¸í ½í¸í ½í¸ However, just as I feared all NURS 700 courses are filled. That course is a pre-req for other courses that I need, so if I can't register this semester for it I'm worried that it will delay my progression in this program. í ½í¸¥í ½í¸¥ so I sent an email to the academic advisor for the PMHNP program about my problem. Hoping to hear back from her sometime this week about what I should do.

I mean they're both wonderful. But what is the comparison when it comes to cost?

Hi Beloved,

Congratulations on your acceptance into the Hunter PMHNP program! I hope everything worked out for you. I have a question for you.... I noticed that you were able to enter the program the following semester after you graduated but on the Hunter website it says that you need a current registration as an RN and licensure for admission. How were you able to complete this before the semester began or does Hunter waive this requirement for new grads? Thanks!

Hey NYGirl,

I know this response is about a year late LOL, but I'll be glad to answer your question for any future readers. I applied to Hunter's PMHNP program directly after completing an RN-BSN degree program, meaning I already earned my RN license before I earned my BSN.

How competitive is Hunter College PMHNP program? I don't have psychic nursing experience. I have BSN & worked in Managed Long Term Care, CHHA, and Surgery. Please PM or share your 2 cents here.
