I just got an email that I’m a finalist for this year’s award cycle. I have to submit my intent to accept confirmation. No credit check that I saw on my report. Mental health HPSA 13 I’m a psych NP and former NHSC scholarship recipient. Applied for the SUD loan repayment. I already have my X waiver and currently working with substance use disordered (suboxone) patients. Good luck to everyone who applied :)

Hey guys, I think that finalist notifications are still underway. I received an email on Friday that I was chosen for the Nurse corps Scholarship, however I already accepted my award from the NHSC on July 28th ( I applied to both for my NP program). I was given until Monday to respond if I was interested in accepting the Nurse Corps scholarship offer, but I declined it. This means they are still sending out emails, keep the faith guys.

Congrats to those who have received finalists emails! I'm a psych NP student currently enrolled in the second year of my master's program. I applied to both scholarships (NHSC & NURSE Corps). I received my finalist email from NHSC on 7/27 at 9:00AM EST but did not receive an email from NURSE Corps. I did, however, receive two credit checks from both scholarships (6/14 from NHSC and 7/15 from NURSE Corps). I am quite relieved that I was offered an award from NHSC as opposed to NURSE Corps since I too was concerned about the tax burden. I already submitted my documents and accepted the award offer. Had I been offered both, I would have chosen NHSC anyway, so it worked out for the best. My application is currently under final review, just waiting on the countersignature. For those who are still waiting...Good Luck! There's still time :)

Hey NYGirl, I know this response is about a year late LOL, but I'll be glad to answer your question for any future readers. I applied to Hunter's PMHNP program directly after completing an RN-BSN degree program, meaning I already earned my RN license before I earned my BSN.

So I just received my official acceptance letter for fall admission on 7/14, which I'm so ecstatic about!! í ½í¸í ½í¸í ½í¸ However, just as I feared all NURS 700 courses are filled. That course is a pre-req for other courses that I need, so if I can't register this semester for it I'm worried that it will delay my progression in this program. í ½í¸¥í ½í¸¥ so I sent an email to the academic advisor for the PMHNP program about my problem. Hoping to hear back from her sometime this week about what I should do.

Hey there blueindigo79, I received an email on 5/21 indicating that my admission for the fall semester is on hold for the PMHNP program. Since I am still working on completing my final courses for my BSN this summer, I won't be receiving my degree until the end of summer. Therefore, I haven't received an official acceptance letter as of yet. I was, on the other hand, invited to the new student orientation that was held earlier this week on 6/3. Given that I am able to prove completion of my BSN before the fall semester begins, I will receive an official acceptance letter. The only problem with this is, I'm currently unable to register for any classes. I'm worried that the classes I want will fill up before I'm finally able to register.

That's very interesting that this happened to you because I had a similar experience. I was actually denied to the RN pathway program at first and then later accepted because of an error. I had to go to an admissions counselor in person for them to acknowledge the mistake. Essentially, I was accepted shortly after going in to the school to speak to someone. I have to admit that this wasn't the best first impression of my first experience with the school, however, I have stilled opted to accept my acceptance. Now to get to the real reason I am writing...lol. I am very interested in your experience as student in the RN pathway program. I'm especially nervous about the curriculum and it's level of difficulty particularly with having to juggle working as a newly graduated RN. I have heard from other nursing students that achieving the BS is no where near as hard as when you are going for the AAS. I'm interested in hearing your opinion on how it compares. Are the classes easy to pass? How much non-lecture time do you have to invest (i.e. Clinical) ? Anything worth sharing please do....I would really appreciate it thanks
