cheap FNP program with no required GPA

Hi everyone,I am looking for an online FNP program that is cheap or reasonable and does not require a GPA.I am a foreign grad and my GPA is low compared to the standard here,it was because of the difference of the no. of credit hours that I completed back home. I inquired at Georgetown and they don't require GPA,however,it is really expensive,any suggestions?

You don't get a low gpa due to low number of credits. If you didn't do well in any number of classes that's how you get a low gpa.

Instead of searching for a cheap program (which nowadays is almost nonexistent), I would take a few graduate courses to boost up your GPA as well as show potential schools that you are able to handle the course for the program. Programs on the cheaper side are usually state schools. Georgetown is not a state school and is pretty selective.

Georgetown and a number of the other really prestigious programs don't have a documented minimum GPA -- but the reality is, no one with less than a v. high GPA gets in. I went to one of those programs (that doesn't publish a minimum GPA that they require), but I guarantee you there was no one there who didn't have an outstanding academic record. The feeling of these schools is that it's tacky and unnecessary to specify a minimum GPA (like talking about money :)); everyone just understands that you need top grades to get in.

You should be trying to get into the best program you can, and work hard to be the best NP you can. Many programs out there have tons of scholarships that you can apply. Some university medical center programs pay for your credit hours taken at the university if you are a full time employee.

If you have a good explanation for why your GPA is low, you may be able to get accepted anyway. I had some very stupid (no offense to present company) classmates at Maryville, which is why I initially left. Cost is in the 30's.

Classmates are more literate at UTA, but you'll probably have difficulty with the pathophysiology course as most do and it is designed for you to fail if you have a family, take another course or work!!--and they don't tell you this, but even though there is a very doable pathophys course that is 100% online, if you do the "online" program, you are prohibited from taking other courses there. I suspect that's not legal but who has time to fool around with that....? The rest of the program is pretty good. And the cost is in the thirties as well.

I suspect that if you are a foreign grad with a low GPA but that it is a matter of method of calculation, it may be because your max is not a 4 (or as in the case of a very few schools, a 5), but something less, which would make excellent grades look not so excellent. Get your transcript translated and your GPA calculated so that it is comparable to a US grad. If it truly is a matter of numbers and not achievement, it should be easy to demonstrate--
