Hi everyone please this thread so is for those who recently took the exam this 2014. Please I just took the AANP and failed. I felt like the world was over yesterday. I asked myself where is God? because I cried for him before I went in for that exam. I used leik second edition and barkley book 2013 and bought 10 bundles of AANP-FNP questions which was a complete joke. please don't waste your time on it. I believe I need the recent information. Please I want to sit for the ANCC. what is the best 2014 updated study material to use for ANCC I want to focus on one particular information. Reviews to me don't help because I took kaplan for nclex and it was a complete waste of my money because I never used it but studied from other materials and passed nclex at cut off 75 without any problem for the first time. I took the FNP AANP exam want to sit for FNP ANCC exam next

I recently took the exam, and I failed. Its a difficult reality to deal with, but can only blame myself for not doing good enough. My question is this: to those who weren't successful in taking the exam, did you have to notify your school that you didn't pass? are we required to notify the school? will ANCC or AANP notify the school? and can the school ask about a student's status directly from the examining body regarding the result of our exam? any privacy rights to protect us?

Reason Im asking is because I am still hurting from this experience. And I feel that it's my business to tell, I am not ready to answer questions from people who only pretend to feel sorry. You know what I mean. It's difficult enough dealing with the hurt, adding insult to injury is far worse. Thanks for taking time to read and for the reply. Looking forward to knowing what you guys think and feel. Have a good one.

Hi everyone ! I am currently attending FNP program in Florida and plan to graduate in May of 2015. Can anyone explain the difference between ANCC and AANP certification? Is one more marketable vs. the other? Is there a difference by state to which certification they accept? Thank you in advance.

Lotus, I too failed my first attempt at the ANCC and completely understand what your going through! To answer your question no, the certifying body does not notify your school. When I failed I did not tell anyone other than my family and one close friend I graduated with. When my coworkers asked if I took my exam yet I would either say "no yet!" or those who knew I was taking it soon, I told them I rescheduled . Your right, its your business! I do encourage you telling a close friend or old classmate, mine gave me the greatest motivation!

See my post under this thread "ANCC FNP: My experience" as to how I studied for the second time around (which I passed with flying colors!): https://allnurses.com/student-nurse-practitioner/ancc-fnp-exam-906446-page2.html

DO NOT be discouraged. Have faith! You will pass! Remember you kinda already know what to expect...and that helped me alot! You got it.

Hi guys.

Like many, I too am so disappointed. I failed ANCC with 339 last October 27. Failed ANNP too on Aug 28. Am so sad and distraught. The ancc were ethics questions out of the blue. The aanp I just think I didn't study enough due to overconfidence.

I just paid my retake fee for ancc and hoping I could test late dec for annc. My aanp can't allow a retake as it awaits my degree conferral on the transcript. Ancc informed me I could retake but will only release my scores when my degree is conferred unlike aanp where after failing they require degree to be conferred first before retaking is allowed. I hope ancc is correct.

Am so sad. I pray every day and failed both tests. Nobody knows I failed except by bf. I missed parties for 3 months. Am so depressed. I don't know how I could take another fail either exams. But I will take both. Please pray for me.

You are not alone. Same with you my friends and managers keep asking if I passed. I just say tests are overbooked. ? But still am so sad. I invested so much time money and effort just to fail both ?

Cutemary1 do not keep putting yourself down! Its great that you realized where you went wrong. And so what if you failed twice, they are two very different tests. I trully believe you need to study for one or the other, ANCC is mostly ethics and AANP is mostly clinical. As far as the ANCC.... 339 is so close to passing! You will pass next time! I failed with a 297 the first time, and passed the second. Develop a study plan, use multiple sources. STAY POSITIVE! You will pass!

And yes, ANCC is right! after you pass, they will mail out your verfication of certification letters to your state board of nursing once they receive that offical transcript.

Good luck, you got it!

Thank you so much Froggie. It's been a hard struggle since my double whammy failure. Currently awaiting ATT from ANCC is a repeat dejavu process all over again argh. Lord help me...

Currently doing Brown's book. Will re-read again Leik after and then Fitzgrald. My brain is about to explode and so as my heart...

Im giving the ANCC exam another try. Thank you for your kind words, Froggie. I see a former classmate at work working as an APN, and I felt sick to my stomach the first time. A painful reminder of my failure, but surprisingly, I also is a motivator for me to work harder and aim to pass. We can do this cutemarty! We will pass!

Amen!!! I am due to retake ANCC this month too... Am praying so hard. Never prayed hard like this..... Oh Lord..

Yes! Claim it, you will pass! Use a few resources to study and be committed. Soon this will all be a thing of the past...

Use that scrap paper to write a couple of motivational blurbs (You got it! Entry level exam! Pass rate is..! etc.) That made me feel super confident during the exam :-)

Best of luck!!!!!!!

I'm right there with you guys I took the AANP exam today and failed. I was confident going in, thought I knew this stuff. It defiantly shakes your confidence. I have a job waiting on me to pass, so a little pressure there. I am signing up to take the ANCC, sounds like people have trouble with it after the AANP, I realize it is a different test. I did the Barkley review and Leik book second edition, also took the practice exam. So far I'm the only one that I know of in my class that has failed, horrible feeling. But hopefully I will pass on test #2. How did your retake go?

It's a different test. Go into it thinking you will pass no problem.
