I am hoping someone out there can give me ANY ADVICE on taking these two classes online at MTSU this summer...along with adv. health care assessment. I know..it sounds CRAZY, but I must take these classes this semester in order to graduate timely. I just quit my job to concentrate on school FULL TIME, but I only have enough funds for 18 months to 2 years. I want my FNP and am ready to work like a maniac to earn it. ANY SUGGESTIONS? My school is MTSU, Middle Tennessee State University. (Got my bachelors from there last year) I am a RODP student. I was able to learn who my patho. instructor is and contacted her. She told me to read the first 4 chapters in the book now to have a head start and that's what I will do. If ANYONE has ANY advice, I would be FOREVER greatful. It took 6 long years (part-time student) to earn my BSN and I cannot do that again. I am basically scratching by financially to realize this dream. Wish me luck! Prayers are appreciated too! Thank you.

I took advanced pharm and advanced nursing research together it was crazy.... My pharm class was no joke.....and i had to write a 30 page research study proposal as well....i was ready to quit that semester. If i cold turn back time i would of took pharm by itself. Pharm and patho may be a lot together especially over a short summer term. And adv health assessment? I think its too much together. Although i was working full time when i took those classes. Since your not working it may not be too bad i guess.
No, ITS BAD! lolol, but I really feel I have no choice. Why? No clinical can begin without first taking (and passing) these courses. If I cant do it, then I cannot start clinicals this fall. If I don't start clinicals this fall, I cannot graduate before my money runs out. It took me so long to obtain my BSN while working, I really need to not work and finish up school.
Thank you for your information, I very much appreciate it. Any study strategies would be wonderful!

Julielive, do you know if your courses are mainly exams or papers or both?

What is MTSU? Do they have an online Adv. Pharm course and does one have to be a enrolled student?

I took Adv Pharm, Adv patho, and Nursing theory last semester. If you are working on it FULL time, like you say - you will be fine!! Of course its challenging, if it weren't, everyone would do it! It is admirable that you are working so hard :)
My BEST advice: stay caught up, if not ahead at all times!
I use the medscape for iPhone app in all my classes. I just downloaded epocrates, I heard it was awesome.
Best of luck! You can do it!

I agree with the previous posters, stay up on the readings, read ur assessment book, YOUTUBE is great tool, especially if your looking for visuals. They made us take patho first so you kinda had a good understanding how meds worked, but you probably have that anyways. NOTECARDS was a must for me and a savior. Passed pharm with an A. good luck
