I am very confused, I am planning to take the ANCC certification exam. There is so much materials to cover. I am studing Ameliee and Leik. I am reaching out for some help to see if I am on the right track. My biggest problem is answering questions with the word EXCEPT, I always get them wrong. How can I tackle this problem. Thanks

My last few practice exams I made sure to SLOW DOWN and read the question carefully as I was also making careless mistakes. I just took the AANP and they usually had the word except either all caps or bonded so it was noticeable.

On some of the questions I came across I might have to Re-read the question, tell myself if they were looking for a true or false response, then re-read the choices with the "true or false" in mind.

I really loved Hollier's review and Leik did have some typos but those were the two I focused on toward the end of my studying.

Good luck!

As anh06005 suggests, look at the answers and consider which are "true" and which are "false". This helps identify the "except" answer. I too had problem with this and have worked hard. I am doing Fitzgerald's online review and she is really good about helping answer this type of question.
