Relocation info - Charleston/MUSC what are the options?

Hi all!

I'm a nurse of 3 years in TN. We are thinking of relocating to the Charleston/Summerville area soon.

I currently work at a University hospital and really like the availability of docs so again am thinking of going the University hospital route which I see is MUSC.

I now work in the float pool - primarily acute care focusing on cardiac and neuro. Occasionally work ICU with the more stable crowd.

Can anyone tell me about the float or weekender options at MUSC (also interested in Roper St Francis) On the website it gives pay grades but I have no idea what those mean. Does the float pool and weekenders get benefits? How are the differentials and scheduling?

Anyone know about relocation assistance for either of these hospital systems?

Feel free to private message as well!

Thanks

I know this is a bit late in coming since you posted back in March. I don't know if you've gotten any advice through PMs but my advice is to give the nurse recruiter at both Roper and MUSC a call. They can provide you with all the information you need first hand.

Good luck to you! Charleston is a beautiful city!

Currently due to the economy Roper is not providing relocation assistance. Roper works off of what's called "dream pool" scheduling to entice nurses to come work for them. this allows nurses to be weekday or weekend workers.
