I think my school psychologist is in need of help.....

Do any of the school nurses on this board work with school psychologists that are in more need of help than their students are? The one in my building has more problems than anyone I personally have ever known; physical, psychological, emotional, and personal. Did I mention time management?

Our offices are very close, so it is hard not to hear all the personal stuff; calls, etc., that he makes and receives in the office. He is always late to work, leaving early. Sick calls almost equal the days here. The administration appears to have "wised up" and figured out what he has been up to, so tenure has been denied. Of course, that is all the fault of everyone else, as "he knows he is doing a good job".

What bites is that I had the stupidity to engage in what I thought was a "discussion" with him recently, disagreeing with a position taken on a child's situation, and I guess that no dissent is to be tolerated. I guess he saw it as a "fight"(???)

Now, I feel like I am back in Junior High School, which I didn't like much the first time around. Slamming doors, no communication at all, no information that needs to get to me is getting to me, etc. Exceedingly childish behavior.

On the other hand, he is using this as a sign that he no longer wants to be a school psychologist after all. He has decided to become an RN, instead, which he believes will be much easier and better.... I wish him luck

Heaven help the nursing profession if this gem becomes a nurse.
