PORTERVILLE, CA

Registered Nurse needed to work in primary, ambulatory care clinic on the Tule Indian

Reservation, located 17 miles east of Porterville, CA - approximately 30 minutes from downtown Porterville - elevation, approximately 900 feet.

Duties include:

1. Primary role of - all aspects of "hands on" primary, ambulatory care clinic nursing. This includes -

a. immunizations and assisting with CHDP exams;

b. "set-up" procedures for specific exams by physician or PA/FNP;

c. use of 12 lead EKG and other clinical equipment;

d. knowledge of and basic skills related to venipuncture; intramuscular, intradermal, sub-cutaneous, and IV injections; wound care; collection of lab specimen; and other ambulatory nursing function / skills.

e. Knowledge of and basic skills related to adult health; i.e. diabetes, and hypertension.

f. Basic skills as may relate to patient education regarding various health related topics; basic skills as may relate to provision of inservice education to clinic staff.

2. Case Management / Coordination of ambulatory care services through use of organizational and leadership skills. Responsible for stocking and ordering needed clinical back-office supplies, maintaining necessary logs, and assuring clean and professional appearance of staff and clinic,

knowledge of Title 22 and OSHA regs helpful.

3. Knowledge of and writing skills necessary for the development of various policy and procedures; reports to county, state and federal agencies; and assuring compliance with necessary local, state, federal, and other standards.
