CCRI Application question...

U.S.A. Rhode Island

Published

Hi everyone!

I have a question about the application process at CCRI. I've tried asking a few advisors, but I get different answers. Hoping maybe someone here can help?

Right now, I'm finishing up all of my pre-reqs. The only two I have left (Into to Health and Micro), I'm registered for this fall. I'm trying to apply for the Newport spring session.

Do they send out accepance letters if you're currently enrolled (with a stipulation that you pass)? I would love to apply in October, but obviously will still be in these two classes. Or, do I need to wait? Last year, they had an "open application period" from January 4-15th. I'd hate to wait and pray for a last-minute acceptance, knowing that my chances might be slim to none of getting in. I have all of the other pre-reqs with a 3.8 gpa. I'm taking my TEAS next month.

Thank you!!!

I hadn't heard that they were switching to a new point system, it seems like they just switched to their current system. It will be more clear cut as to who should get in first and such. I don't think I like that micro isn't counted anymore, do you know if it still needs to be completed before you graduate? thats what is used to be, then they switched it to a pre req.

You still need Micro before you can apply but it is worth no points . The new point system is posted on CCRI website and I posted it on my facebook page.. How is the program going are you in Nursing II ?

Yea, I'm going into Nursing II. They just emailed us the syllabus yesterday so we have 3 weeks to prep. Apparently this is going to be the hardest semester, thats what people say. So I am going to try to use these last few weeks to get ahead already lol

Good luck, you should be fine I have a friend who finished up and she said its kinda like Anatomy a lot of information to get to know and Nursing II and IV are the hardest. I thank you for sharing your experience. I am taking Chem at U R I and two other classes while I wait to hear if I get accepted in Jan 2012 days. I figure work on the BSN classes now instead of do nothing. Thanks again, Good luck.. Lata Sean

Anyone who applied for lincoln fall 2012 program get their acceptance email yet. This is so frustrating how late they are on giving it out

hello! i am waiting aswell i applied for warwick day and i do know that when they send out emails they send all the campuses out at once and a friend who works in admissions at the college said they told her we should be getting our emails friday april 13th if we were accepted!..hope that helps! and good luck!

If I remember correctly I received an email then I had so many days to respond and do a online background check, they give you the site and a code to enter it goes to you and CCRI.

Then like a week later I received a letter regular mail. If you are waiting my suggestion is to buy Taylor's Fundamentals of nursing and read the ADPIE sections or google, bing, spankybax320 and take a look at my quizlets, I leave them open for everyone to use.

The Nursing Professors at CCRI are great in the clinical settings ie Nursing home and hospital.

But remember the book work with Taylor's fundamental or which ever fundamentals book they choose is up to you. This is college not high school. You need to teach yourself the theory part unless your Professor is the best and can lecture also.

Good luck MarissaC I hope you get your email....

Lata Sean Ps if you have any other questions I am going to be finishing 1010 and starting 1030 in the summer just ask but the smart one is Mgalano I think she is finishing up..

thank you for the heads up! and also for the quizlet information!! :) goodluck in 1030 this summer!

so my degree eval was checked 4 times just yesterday - I cannot wait anymore!! i wonder why they check so often!

If I remember correctly the application is handed in and they have you sign a form that they received it you have to follow specific rules and print out your evaluation a certain way if you did not follow the specific rules they will not accept it.

Once they accept the application and you sign the form this happens

1. check by the person you handed it into

2. A advisor checks it and looks at the evaluation.

3. The Nursing coordinator for which ever campus ( Deb Watson in Newport , a guy in Warwick they are both nice, they check the evaluation to see if you completed every thing and are eligible).

4. The nursing department checks the evaluation and determine who gets in with the new system you should know where you are if your GPA is high like 3.6 or higher and you received A's in Anatomy, Dosage, Physiology you should get in.

Every campus is different the GPA at Newport for example could be high like a 3.5 and Providence could be 3.25 or Lincoln

3.5. You should take all this into consideration when applying because you can only apply to one Campus.

That's all I remember check your CCRI email everyday in the morning when you get up, and just before bed.. One day it will

appear, Good luck... Lata Sean

Thanks for the update - they did not have me sign anything but I do know the girl who took it did - and she commented something to the effect of "oh finally, one I do not have to fix!"

When you received your acceptance did you have to register or do they do it for you? I check it 100 times a day - in reality about 15 haha!! I am going crazy waiting - they a really screwing with our heads on this one!! Most people who get in found out in the month they were told they would!!

I can understand if they checked it 10 or less times - but seriously we have been talking and each of our evals have been pulled a huge amount of times!! multiple times on many days - almost every day!!
