Any Memorial Hospital nurse interns?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there is a Memorial Hospital nurse intern? If so, how much do you get paid? Is it enough to live on or is it more of an experience thing than a job per se? What was your experience like? If you were once an intern but are now an RN, how did being an intern help you as far as networking and finding your first job? Btw, are nurse interns and SNA's the same thing??

Funny that I see your post as I have just gotten home from my shift at memorial as an Intern. As for your question regarding money how much you make depends on how far through your nursing program you are. With that being said I think it is a fair wage and there is shift differentials for working weekends, holidays, nights. Is it enough to live on i guess depends on your needs and how many hours you work. I will tell you that they do offer benifits to interns which in my searching for a position they are the only ones that I have found that does. I enjoy working there and have found it to be a good experience overall. The person you want to get in contact with is Lori Gorman she is the nurse recruiter. Good Luck!

I was actually looking into the program at Memorial Hospital myself because one of my nursing professors at RIC does her rotation there (and I believe she works there regularly too.) I'm still looking at different programs but I currently work at RI Hospital as a CNA so I will probably look into the program there first but I am going to look around for all the different programs. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks for the response. I plan to look into it, but I doubt there's much hiring going on right now anyway! It would be nice to get more clinical exposure.... And what exactly does a nurse intern do, say if you've already had 2 clinicals in school? Are you doing assessments and helping the nurse with care plans?....

I know this thread is pretty old, but I was wondering if anyone has gone through the memorial hospital program and what their experience was?
