Continue to Beware of MEDCEU.com

There was a previous thread warning that was closed in 2011 regarding use of MEDCEU.com for continuing education. Well, a year later the company is still out there continuing its antics of automatic renewal without a reminder notice, of not having anyone answering Customer Service calls live and of not responding to messages left for call backs, of emails to Customer Service inoperative, of not indicating anywhere on its website of how to cancel your subscription. I don't take lightly not paying a bill, but after my ineffective efforts to contact the company and after locating the old thread about this topic, I put the credit charge in dispute with my credit card company. I'd like to see this thread continue for awhile to alert nurses new to allnurses.com that they still need to beware becoming entangled with this CE company.

Luckily I have never bought a package from MEDCEU, but I've subscribed to the mailing list a few years back .... and I have been trying to unsubscribe from it ever since. I get about 2 emails a day from them, its infuriating! There is noway to contact anyone from the company. I've tried, and tried .. The unsubscribe button must mean "send me more emails!" because it has done nothing! The site is a scam!

You can't always do this, but when I am dealing with a company that I am not really sure about, I like to use my credit card that is going to expire first (I only have 2 plus a debit card). Sadly, that method has worked for me before when I keep forgetting to discontinue auto-renewing services. My current CEU provider has always faithfully notified me when it's about to expire, and I've actually had it lapse on me. I guess that's a good thing?

I used to have a medceu account, but it's been years and I have no positive or negative memories of my dealings with them.

i purchased a 5 year subscription based on my co workers recommendation on 12/31/12. bad idea i guess. i am now in dispute with my credit card company. can't contact company by email and no phone. i have yet to use it, so i am hoping the charge drops & i can go to a reputable company - even if it costs more.
