College of the Mainland. Spring 2018 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone,

I just submitted my application last

week for the Spring 2018 ADN program at college of the mainland. I'm so nervous, my overall point is 840. I can't wait to get accepted, I just pray they don't make mistakes. If you are also applying please comment, you can comment about your points too.

Those in the nursing program already, please how is the program like? I'm so nervous. I heard the lowest they accepted for last semester was 760, I hope it is lower this time around. I called the school and I was told that they have a lot of applicants.

Where can I find cheap apartment close to the school. I wanna start searching for an apartment in texas city.

Hello everyone. I've just applied for the spring as well. A little nervous. My score was a 778. Hopefully we hear something soon

I have been checking Webadvisor and my email over the weekend knowing that nothing would have went out lol. I cannot tame myself.

same here hahahha. I'm so anxious, I'm hoping by Friday we will hear something.

Hopefully. Anybody have the guts to call? Lol

you have a great score. I'm sure you gonna get in. A lot of people will get in this section though because they accept a lot of applicants during spring semester.

To answer your question on what the program is like, I am in the 3rd semester and so far its not bad. I feel like the program is definitely challenging, in a good way. They don't take it easy on you, and they don't spoon feed you information. The students that wait last minute to do everything have already failed out of the program so it does weed out the ones that aren't motivated. The only thing I personally complain about is the last minute changes in scheduling. For example, we start next week, but I still haven't gotten any word on our clinical schedule so I can't even tell my job the days i'll be available. But thats just a personal problem, nothing the school needs to be concerned about.

Also, good luck to everyone applying. I don't remember my score when i applied, I think it was in the 700's but it if makes anyone with a low score feel better, I personally got in as an alternate. So I had to go through the entire summer, completing the tasks just like everyone that was accepted (drug test, blue card, all that) without actually knowing if i'll be in the program or not.

Hopefully. Anybody have the guts to call? Lol

I just called and she said it takes like 2 to 3 weeks after the deadline. They have a lot of convocation going on this week so she doesn't think it will be possible for the result to come out this week. She said to keep our fingers crossed tho, because they have to fix a date for the meeting so as to decide who gets in or not.

Wow, well I think I'm gonna block my phone from looking at webadvisor for about a week because I don't wanna go cray cray checking too much. Thx for calling

Dang, so if you're an alternate you have to wait until the first day of class to see if you're actually in?

@maryebele29

Did someone tell you that they accept a lot of people during the spring semester? I'm kind of worries because I see others and their score is higher than mine. My score was 747..

I'm ready to see hopefully an acceptance at COM. I see people say they have 800+ points...I hope the norm is not 840 because that is a lot of points! I hope the cut off is similar to what I have seen written on past boards with points around 760 points...How do you guys know they accept more for Spring semester? How many students are accepted? What is a blue card?

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate. When are you gonna graduate?
