Hello,

Just wondering if there is anything else I can do to improve my chances of getting hired by an insurance company (or do I even have a chance??) I am an rn with bsn. I currently work in an inpatient psych facility and have been there about a year . My previous job was in a pediatric office for about 5 months . Please help I really wanna get into one of these jobs just don't know the next step :(

BTW, you should think of a new screen name since you are now a nurse. I have been looking at job postings for this type of work for quite some time and every one that I have encountered indicated that they want someone with experience. Guess one just has to sneak their way into this kind of job.

Yeah, experience ?. Do you know how I can change my screen name?? I haven't figured it out yet lol

Go to the admin help desk or the section for that on the site. I read the directions awhile back. You can change your screen name yourself and if you can't figure out how to do it, just send a PM to one of the admins and they will help. If you post in the admin help desk, they ask that you provide three choices of name in case your first choice is already taken. Try looking in your profile, I think the link for your name change may be there.

I just found it. Click on your name on the upper right hand area of the top of the page. Then click "settings". Now click on "account". On the next screen there should be a band a few inches down that says to click for all of your options, click that. About 3/4 of the way down, is the link for "login info". Click that link, and you will find user name at the bottom. HTH

Hello,

I think there is definitely a chance you can get hired as a chart review nurse if you are still looking. There are many HEDIS nurse openings around the country right now, it's the HEDIS season for every insurance company and they need nurses now until mid May.

My advice would be to check on indeed.com or monster.com and type in HEDIS NURSE and you will see there are many openings- hopefully some in a commutable distance for you unless you can find a work from home one which is more difficult. Also, try to work through recruiters from staffing agencies- they are usually very helpful and work hard to place you at a job.

Best of luck on your job hunt.

You have Psych experience check out Centene.com

Thanks for the suggestions! Another question, so chart review is only until May right? What do people usually do for the rest of the year?
