I want this job!

Specializes in NICU.

I had an interview today for a nurse family advocate for a child development program. It went great and the job sounds wonderful. :yeah: The position would case manage a load of 25 max clients. I would make 12 home visits per WEEK for at risk 1st time pregnant women and their child until the child reaches 2 years of age. The majority of the duties will be assessments of mom & baby, referals to community intervention services. It is very flexible, as I would make my own appointments for visits.

Does anyone do similar work? What do you like/not like about your job?

I love working with babies and the teaching that goes along with it, but I do not like the stress of the NICU. It's way too much.

I am on pins & needles waiting!!!!!

Good luck, that sounds like the Nurse Family Partnership, and it is a great program! The program had high priority for funding in President Obamas first 100 days. I am making that program a focal project of my BSN program, and would love to work for it also.

So ittybittybabynurse, did you get the job with the Nurse Family Partnership? If so, how are you liking it? Can you provide some of the ups and downs about the job? Thanks.

Nope, I did not get it. They said hopefully they will add another position in a couple of months and will call me. Thanks for asking!

No problem. I am sorry to hear that you didn't get the job. God provides so keep trying to get that job if that's what you want! I am actually trying to get the same job here in TX. I am hoping to get a call today and get an interview scheduled!

Thank you. I have been telling myself God knows what's best for me & my family right now and the right thing at the right time WILL come along, whether it be this or something else.

Well, best of luck and please post a reply of how everything goes! I'm excited for you!! :yeah:

Yes He does! It's such a wonderful feeling too. I will definately keep you posted. I noticed that there seemed to be few nurses on here that are employed with NFP, so when I start ( I am already claiming my blessing) I will do my very best to post some information. Have a blessed weekend.

Specializes in Cath Lab, OR, CPHN/SN, ER.

They posted about 4 positions to the area I'm relocating to. I'd love to continue working for PH, but I don't know if this is the area I want to go into. Sounds great though, just not for me.
