so i found out today from friend's family that she has paranoid schizophrenia for the past 4 yrs already. First 1-2 yrs she took meds but abruptly stopped taking it on her own and stopped going for therapy. She doesn't believe that she has a disorder and feels that she's normal. Yet, she's always paranoid & angry ...sometimes violent towards objects (which she doesn't realize) . My question is, what can be done to help her? How do people convince someone with a disorder that they should seek help?

I do not consider you to get involved in something you are not positive with. The lady seems upset! I advice you to tell her family or seek a community doctor. They can help.

oops, sry i meant advice for the family to help her. they have tried numerous times to try to get her to seek help but she refuses. i dont want to be involved but her family have asked me what they can do and i dont know what else more they can do.
