Help with interview:)

I have an interview for a new grad internship program for a childrens psychiatric unit. As a new grad I am sooo excited and nervous! I really want this position and was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers for my interview. During school I have only had the opportunity to work for 4 weeks at a hospital in-patient unit and 4 weeks at an outpatient facility. So as you can see I dont have that much experience in the Psych area. I am really excited about this opportunity and any pointers you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

The only advice I could think of is to review in your mind your clinical experience in the psych area and try to go over some of the basic concepts. You might anticipate a question such as "What would you do if patient A comes toward you in a threatening manner, wielding what appears to be a weapon?" Try to think of interview questions they could ask you that would point out your readiness to work in such an environment. Maybe you could ask your former instructor for some pointers. Good luck.

My best advice is to be prepared. Google common interview questions and think of your answers beforehand. Many initial HR interviews use very common questions, like your strenghs and a weakness, and be prepared to give examples to back up any qualities you identify yourself as having.

I had no psych experience, not even in school, when I interviewed and I got the job. Enthusiasm helps. Good luck:)
