Books by Psych Nurses?

I've been trying my best to feel out the environment, day to day norms, pros, and cons of several different fields of nursing, but I'm not having much luck with psychiatric nursing. I don't know any psych nurses, the nearby state facility doesn't appear to be hiring CNAs at this time, and the only books on psychiatric nursing I can find look to be textbooks. Do any of you have any recommendations on books by psychiatric nurses that could give some insight into the day to day grind, worst case scenarios, triumphs, and current issues? Thanks in advance.

Specializes in psychiatric nursing.

I have the book "Inpatient Psychiatric Nursing: Clinical Strategies & Practical Interventions" by Linda Damon et al. While I suppose it is like a text book, it gives good advice on how to deal with patients on the unit.

I also enjoyed "Psychiatric Nursing made Incredibly Easy" by Lippincott Williamns & Wilkins publishers.
