What was your GPA, when you got accepted into nursing school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing Nursing Q/A

There seems to be a lot of questions on how important GPA is to get into a program.

I decided to start a thread where people can see , and average them out. We can all speculate on the importance, but to see the numbers, sometimes helps.

I hope it helps some people. I hope we all achieve our goals.

I start in January an RN program, my GPA is 4.0

3.0 but I have a bio degree and scored in the 99th percentile on TEAS. Starting my associates to bachelors program in August =] yay

3.78, I think (based on 24 units).

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

Pre-req GPA: 4.0, cumulative GPA 3.9

Halfway through nursing school, overall GPA is still 3.9 :)

I got accepted into an ADN program with a cumulative GPA of 3.29. (From 90 credit hours taken at a university) I am currently waiting to see if I will get accepted into the BSN program at the university that I've been attending for almost 5 years now. They don't go off of cumulative GPA though, they go off of the combined GPA of all 8 pre-requisite classes & the Science GPA for A&P I & II & Organic Chemistry. They are based on a point system, so you get more points the higher those GPA scores are. You also get points for work experience, taking all of your pre-requisites at the university & points for all 4 areas on the TEAS Test. We'll see! Anxiously awaiting a letter in the mail!

That's awesome, Kris! I always hear from people that I'm going to lose my 4.0 once nursing school starts in the Fall. I really hope that's not the case! You give me hope!

i got accepted into my program with a cumulative 3.2, but a 27 on my ACT. My school stresses ACT scores, so i'm sure that's what got me in!

Pre-reqs: 3.6

Cumulative: 3.5

I have no idea how 4.0 students do it haha. Props to them.

Specializes in MICU.

Prerequisites 4.0

Science 4.0. I got accepted to holy family university with no problem. Am starting the program in August

Specializes in ICU.

3.98. I am afraid though my summer algebra class might wreck it. I think I will probably get a B instead of A in it. Sigh.....

My GPA is currently a 3.87 cumulative with a 4.0 in the pre-requisites. Hopefully I can maintain it in nursing school!

Specializes in Hospice, Palliative Care.

Good day:

I just got accepted today; GPA at the time of acceptance, 4.0 cumulative. Now, that this bridge has been crossed, there's a much bigger story as doing well in nursing theory, clinicals, graduating, and passing the NCLEX.

Thank you.

My overall GPA: 3.94; nursing prerequisite GPA: 4.0
