what to do while waiting

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello just a quick question,

So I am currently on the waiting list for three years( seems like forever!I am so anxious!). My goal is to become a neonatal nurse practitioner. I volunteered in the NICU and the Pediatrics last year and loved it ,it is what inspired me to become a nurse. I am currently applying for nurse tech or unit secretary. I was perviously a medical receptionist but moved for school. So my only experience is that. Anyways my question is what else can I do while I wait? Is there anything that I can do that will help me later? especially to become a neonatal nurse?

Read :) on neonatal .. look up books/journals and research what's new in that field.... get some insight...

Thank you :) any suggestions to help me get a job in the hospital with little experience? I have been told I do great on the interviews but then get the " choose another candidate email."

Is this a BSN or ADN Program that you have been wait listed for? If an ADN, you could continue doing other BSN Prerequisites. Any reason why you haven't applied to other Nursing Programs, instead of putting all your eggs in one basket?

Its an ADN, because all the other programs are competitive( I have a 2.9 gpa) figured at least with this one I am on a list and know I will eventually be up.
